Akwa United get apartment, N2million each

Victorious Akwa United have been rewarded with an apartment and two million Naira each after they made history by landing a first-ever Nigeria Federation Cup.

Rumours were the players will each be given a car gift by oil-rich Akwa Ibom State Government, the owners of the club. Akwa United shocked favourites Lobi Stars 2-1 in the cup final in Lagos last month.

After they battled to stay up in the Nigeria premier league this past season, Akwa United will now represent Nigeria in next year’s CAF Confederation Cup.
