NIGERIA WILL BE HEALED WHEN WE WALK HUMBLY BEFORE GOD BISHOP OLALEYE

The bishop of Abraham’s Evangelistic Ministry, AEM, Bishop Abraham Olaleye has charged Nigerian leaders and lawmakers to embrace humility in the discharge of their duties as it is the only way people can have confidence in them.

The clergyman said this in Lagos last Sunday during the ordination of Ikechi Amechi and Ada Amechi of Jesus the Crown of Glory Ministries, as Reverend Pastors, held at the church’s auditorium, Agboju, Lagos.

He emphasised that leadership is a command from God, which must be followed with humility as exemplified by Jesus Christ.

He said: “For the people in leadership of our nation Nigeria to succeed, there must be humility in walking with God. They should be courageous in doing and fulfilling the purpose for which God has called them to do which is leading the people right.

They should not be intimidated by any political class or tribal sentiment. They should see themselves as servants of God and should not bear the rod in vain.”

Bishop Olaleye also disclosed that the hard times Nigerians are passing through today is symptomatic of what happens to man when he fails to observe the principles of God’s grace in his life.

“Hardship is common with man and some of these hardships have their good place because they help to draw us close to God. When we come into hardship, it is a sign that something is missing. It is a sign that we have left God, but when we return to him, things are bound to change.

Nigeria will be healed when we walk humbly before him and he will heal us. There will be restoration in the land. God has what it takes to bless a nation and make it prosper but we must turn to God and turn away from our wicked ways and pursue him in righteousness,” he said.

While chastising the leadership of the church, Olaleye said,” The commandment is so simple. It is a commandment of humility. For bible says God resists the proud and gives more grace to the humble. The humility draws us closer to God. He gives us grace when we walk with him humbly.

As ministers of God, we need to show good example in following Jesus’ life and pattern. I think we are going to achieve a lot in Nigeria if we begin to show humility from the pulpit. The spirit and grace will run down to the pew and everybody out there will be affected.”

Meanwhile, it was a rebirth of faith as the new pastors in God’s vineyard, Reverend Ikechi and Reverend Mrs. Ada Amechi celebrated their first pastoral service in the midst of a large congregation with thanksgiving.

“I thank God for his grace having gone through series of challenges in my life. As founder of Jesus the Crown of Glory Ministries Incorporated, it is a fulfillment and first step of God’s calling in my life, which is winning souls and drawing mankind to God.” Rev. Amechi said.
