President Buhari To Host Track And Field Athletes
President Muhammadu Buhari is set to host track and field athletes who won Nigeria medals at the African Games and Youth Commonwealth Games.
The athletes were absent when President Buhari hosted footballers, the Nigerian Basketball team (D’Tigers) and the Scrabble team last week.

The athletes felt left out of the ceremoney but they will not have the chance to receive an official handshake from the president who will host them at a later date.
Nneka Anibeze, Media Assistant to the sports minister, Solomon Dalung said: “The athletes will be hosted at a later date. When and where that is what I cannot confirm.”
According to the Vanguard, the track and field list presented to the sports minister was bogus, and funds were not enough to go round.President Buhari fulfilled a 30-year-old promise which he made to the victorious 1985 Golden Eaglets squad.
Buhari on Thursday, January 21, rewarded members of the nation’s U-16 football team that won the 1985 FIFA championship when he was military Head of State with N2 million each.
