Family denies rumoured death of Diezani Allison Madueke in London

The family of Nigeria’s immediate past Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke has described as untrue, reports in the media that she died Thursday afternoon in London.
“The report is untrue. She’s alive and well,” a family member was quoted variously by many online news blogs.
The family was responding to a gale of enquiries following reports earlier on Thursday evening about the death of Diezani, who has been down with cancer-related ailment since leaving office in May this year..
The speculation that Diezani had died went viral before family members came up with a rebuttal, insisting that she is still alive.
Indeed, one of the reports indicated that the former minister died of cancer in London and was being prepared to be flown back to Nigeria on Saturday this week..
Despite assurances by the family she is alive, there were indications that her deteriorating health might have precipitated the speculation about her death..
