NOBODY IN ACTING CAPACITY AT NIGERIAN ELECTRICITY REGULATORY COMMISSION DR.SAM AMADI

 NThe immediate past Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Dr. Sam Amadi, has said that the immediate past board of commissioners of the NERC in which he served as its chairman did not appoint any persons to act as commissioners or decision makers for the commission at the expiration of their five years tenure, ThisDay reports.

Amadi said his team had instead set up a ‘continuity team’ which is supervised by the most senior management staff of the commission to carry on with skeletal duties in the commission such as payment of staff salaries; response to inquiries from stakeholders such as the distribution and generation companies as well as the National Assembly; and all other duties that do not involve deep regulatory interventions. He added  that the continuity team would be in place until the federal government appoints new commissioners.
